The Dive

A sudden clap of thunder
 in the far distance
Pieced the stillness of the cloudless skies
 And scattered away my butterflies
 I stepped forward
With blue above and below
and took the dive
 Reaching high for
The yonder in the skies
I took flight in a mid-air
Summer delight
Twisting and turning
A somersault that caught the wind
I turned and plunged right in
  Giggly I submerged
into the cold depths below
with pointed toe
and dare I say, as I emerged
eager do it all over again
